Conclusion

Farnell Parish Church faces the future with a decent confidence. As a congregation we have faced up to the issues raised by a long vacancy. We have accepted that elders must carry more of the burden of managing church affairs; we have created a development plan; we have begun to carry out key parts of the plan; we have joined a new grouping of parishes to stimulate cooperation within the Church of Scotland; we have linked with a neighbouring burgh congregation in a spirit of harmony and goodwill. We look forward to the coming of a new minister to continue this vision of reformation in our church and of contributing to the common good.
