Welcome to Brechin Gardner Memorial & Farnell Parish Churches

HAITI EARTHQUAKE

On Tuesday 12th January 2010 a violent earthquake struck the city and surrounding area around Port au Prince the capital of Haiti. A massive international aid effort involving over 40 nations was immediately launched.

Brechin Gardner Memorial & Farnell Parish Churches would like to thank all those who responded so promptly to their appeals for help and are pleased to anounce that within a week of the disaster they were able to send a cheque for £786.35 (~$1,250) to the UK charity 'Christian Aid'.

One of our members, who sponsored a 9 year old girl named Sabine through the UK charity 'ActionAid', has just been told by them that their colleagues in Haiti believe Sabine will hopefully have survived as she lives in an area called Terre Rouge close to the South coast which was apparently less affected by the earthquake than Port au Prince the capital.
